 About Us
In Kashmiri, Ath Rott literally means to take one’s hand. The name symbolises the history and intent of the organisation – to help others by extending enabling support and building on their existing capacity. Our focus is on displaced communities. We take a broad and inclusive definition of displacement. We focus our efforts on individuals, families and communities that have been displaced through violence, ethnic conflict, and natural disasters, and also through large scale development projects be it at the national, state or city level. We do so drawing from our own experience as Kashmiris, a community that knows first hand the experience of displacement.

Our founder, Late Padma Shree J.N. Kaul (papaji), had  a lifetime of experience in building the SOS Children’s Villages of India and we add his knowledge to the strengths of a committed, experienced and professional set of partners from business, government and medicine. With your support, we hope to make The Ath Rott Foundation a symbol of  successful human and social development.

Our Mission
  • Providing immediate all-round support in education, health and elderly care to displaced individuals.
  • Strengthening families and communities to rebuild self- sustaining support structures.
  • Supporting positive action for harmonious and responsive living among people.
